Sculptural plaster on GTA stair walls and landings
Direct answer to “stair feature wall plaster Toronto”, from on-site work in Ontario homes — not a product brochure.
Stair walls are the most wasted surface in a lot of new GTA houses. They are tall, they are seen every day, and they are usually painted the same greige as the hall. The ribbon and wing pieces in the Yafalux process photos are the correction: sculpture that follows the rise of the stair instead of a flat rectangle hung at eye level.
What changes on a stair
You see the work from below, from the landing, and in passing. Projection has to clear the handrail. A wing or a ribbon that looks right in a studio photo can hit a shoulder on a tight switchback. We measure the walk line before we build. Site photos with railing and protection on the floor are the real job. A studio panel is the study.
Light again
A lit ribbon on a landing works because the stair is otherwise dark at night. The plaster is the fixture's shade. If there is no electrical on that wall, we design for daylight and a sconce, not a fake backlight.
Timeline
Occupied houses need protection and a sequence that does not block the only stair. Tell us if this is the sole exit. We will stage the work around that. Quotes follow photos of the full run, not a crop of the pretty corner.
Common follow-up questions
Can this go in a condo stair?
Only if it is your private stair. Shared condo exits are not a sculpture site.
Do you remove furniture?
The client or GC clears the landing. We protect what stays.
